There is nothing more annoying to me than sitting in a silent class after taking a test or waiting for the teacher to start their obnoxious lesson on whatever ridiculous thing you are forced to learn that day. So that is why headphones make for the perfect "don't talk to me, I am busy not listening" look. I almost always have my headphones on me, well that was before I broke the thing in my phone that helps the sound come through actual wires, don't ask me how because I managed to break a lot more with my phone, along with my headphones. But beside the point, that's a story for another time. Headphones are great because you don't want to listen to your music out loud but you also don't not want to not have something to listen to as you're walking through the halls. They help drowned out the noise especially when you are having a bad day, and you just want to be left alone. Most people get the hint and will give you your space but then there are some people who can hear your music because of how loud it is and still try to make conversation with you. DON"T BE LIKE THOSE PEOPLE, I can't tell you how many people hate that because I know so many the list goes on, and I am only 16. So people if you want to survive through high school, don't forget your headphones, even if you don't like always listening to music, you could always just listen to a book or watch a YouTube video.

The first day of high school is always going to be scary, the older kids looking down on you, the teachers expecting you to be a flop. There really is no way you can get out of those things right off the bat. If but if you do the right things the right way you might learn that the way the older kids look at you is not really important and the teachers opinions don't really matter all that much as long as you get your work done. I would say that I don't really fit in with the majority of my grade. I have a really nice, decent sized friend group don't get me wrong, but especially if you are someone like me that does what I want to do, someone that doesn't really follow the crowd all the time then I recommend reading a few of these 'notes' to help you or a friend that is just stuck, because trust me we have all been there a few times.
